Conventional Boilers

Are you looking for a new conventional boiler?

Conventional boilers are also referred to as regular boilers, traditional boilers or heat only boilers require both a tank and a cylinder. These boilers are suited to homes that already have a traditional heating and hot water system that is linked to a separate hot water cylinder in place. These boilers also require a cold water storage tank to feed the hot water cylinder as well as another tank that preserves the water level of the main central heating system.

Conventional boilers are more common in older properties with a heating system that hasn’t been updated recently.

How do conventional boilers work?

A conventional boiler works by using gas to heat the water stored in the hot water cylinder which is fed by the cold-water storage cistern. The boiler then passes water to the central heating through a feed and expansion tank.

Conventional Boilers

Also known as a regular boiler, a conventional boiler system is made up of a number of parts including a boiler, heating controls, a hot water cylinder, a cold water storage cistern plus a feed and expansion cistern.

What are the benefits of a new conventional boiler?

  • In homes where the parts already exist it is cheaper than replacing the entire system
  • Works well in homes with low water pressure
  • Hot water is available from numerous taps around the home
